I absolutely love photographing weddings at Newton Hall, so I was really delighted when Kirstie and Lee asked me to be their Newton Hall wedding photographer. Kirstie and Lee had absolutely gorgeous weather for their big day, and it was so lovely to see how happy they were all day long.
Being back at Newton Hall was amazing - the beach is only a few minutes away too, and Kirstie and Lee were up for popping there for a few minutes for some wedding photographs on the coast.
On the wedding morning, both Kirstie and Lee got ready in different areas of Newton Hall, along with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Before the ceremony, Lee then greeted the wedding guests, while Kirstie had a few special moments alone with her bridal party.
Kirstie and Lee couldn't pick a favourite moment of the day, saying: "As cheesy as it all sounds...we loved every single moment. We were on cloud nine the whole entire day! From getting up super-early to the party that went on until 3am."
On the morning of the wedding, Kirstie was in tears after reading a letter that Lee had written to her. She later told me that this was a very special moment. Other special touches on the day were having their dog carry their wedding rings down the aisle, and Kirstie's bouquet having her nana's pearls wrapped around them.
Kirstie and Lee had an artist draw caricatures of all their guests to use as place names. The guests could also keep these to take home. They say "All of the guests loved it and you could hear everyone laughing at their pictures as they were seated for the wedding breakfast!"
Their first dance was Cheerleader by Omi, which Kirstie and Lee say "wasn't anything romantic and slow so everyone probably thought we were strange/weird but it meant something to us, because it was the first ever song we danced to together."
Kirstie and Lee's advice to future brides and grooms is to "definitely enjoy every moment, from planning the wedding, to the lead up to it, to the special day itself, because it is over before it even begins so you need to not stress, relax and enjoy every second."
They also recommend that "at some point of the day, take a step back from everyone with your partner to watch the guests and see how much they are enjoying themselves - it's an emotional moment and overwhelming when you think that everyone is there celebrating your special day with you."
